Workable Substitute?

Post by whojamfan »

Is Turtle Wax's Scratch and Swirl remover ok to use like Scratch x? Just curious as the price difference is so dramatic.

I'd give it a shot, maybe on one of the sides, as they're easier to correct if things don't work out.

The worst that could happen is that you'll add some swirls, which can always be removed with another product.

I've found that most of these scratch removers work as well as the "original" Scratch-X; My current favorite is the 3M stuff.

Thanks Paul, just wanted to make sure that chemically it wouldn't mess up the finish. I just bought a big bottle of Zymol the other night, and found the Turtle Wax scratch and swirl remover was 7 dollars less than the Scratch X, so I thought I'd give it a go. I didn't want to try it untill I found out here first, and saved the reciept if I had to return it.

Let us know how it works out, Mary Mark Mike. I'm very pleased with the Kit brand and the 3M as well.
