John and I have emailed quite a bit over the past week. He's a great guy. We have so much in common I feel like I knew him in high school. If we had gone to the same school, we probably would have been friends...Either that or we would have have been too similar and would have hated each other!
Anyhoo, a deal has been made and the bass is effectively his now. He is very excited and has told me that he feels like a kid on Christmas Eve. The weather is keeping me from shipping the bass right now, but hopefully in the next week or two we'll see John post a photo of himself reunited with his treasure.
And I'm good with it, too. It's a great and beautiful bass...But I have other great and beautiful Rick basses, and I'll be okay without it. Plus, I was kinda thinking of thinning my herd out a bit anyway. The problem is choosing which one(s) to let go of. So I'm happy that he found me at the right time and made the choice for me. It was a no-brainer, actually. The bass belongs with him.
