TOP DOWN WEEKEND!

Post by jingle_jangle »

Those of you back East who are digging out, look the other way...

Here in the SF Bay Area, we've had a 10-day-long warm spell; temps will hit 75F today here North of the Bay. This is very unusual for February, which is always rainy and cold.

So I celebrated by washing the Miata this morning and dropping the top. This is a good opportunity to show the "Sound Bar" that I designed and built for Mazda back in '99. Last year, I dusted this one off and installed it into my '95 "M" Edition. It's got speakers behind the headrests and a subwoofer in the center console, with a tinted acrylic windbreak to keep noise down in the cockpit.

The Beatles sound great on this 200W sound system, and the Sound Bar adds a touch of unique style.

Anyway, schadenfreude is not too far away--I'm sure the ****** weather will be back before things get nice again.

Now I can enjoy the 5 mile drive to work on guitars in my shop today...

Believe me! I know it's wrong. Very, very wrong. But a little piece of me hopes a bird poops on your head.

All I'm carrying in the car right now is an ice scraper.

Stephen, I was in the design biz for about 30 years before I took my day job teaching design and fabrication, and began sanding on Rickenbackers on the side. And front. And back. And necks. And...

So, most of my work is non-Rick.

Oh yeah? Well it just so happens that we had a top-down weekend here, too. After the guy in the road grader made his fourth pass to get rid of the 16" of snow, the street was actually navigable.

Hahaha Todd, good one-top- down, heat on "11"! I miss having a convertible. Next car. . . . If only motorcycle helmets had convertible tops, but then that would make them useless, I suppose.

Paul, that thing's cool!
