My sad Rickenstory
Well turns out that I was deeply in love with a Rickenbacker bass. So I go and purchase a 2006 4003 mapleglo. I loved the way it looked but hated the neck...too fat. I sold it..
. So immediately I bought a new 4001c64s Jetglo. I wanted the McCartney look so I took the horseshoe covers. In doing that, the pickup mounted itself causing the pickup to be damage. So I sold the 4001c64s
. Two weeks later, I bought a 4001v63 Jetglo. I love it BUT!!!!!!!!!! my car's transmission decides to mess up...any I had to sell my 4001v63 to get money
this is so tragic
.thanks everyone for listing to my story

So sorry to hear this, Nelson. I hope things turn around for you very soon and you can buy another Rick of your dreams.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

Thanks all for your kind thoughts.
Re: My sad Rickenstory
Keep punching, Nelson. One of these days you'll land a beauty.
All I wanna do is rock!
Re: My sad Rickenstory
I echo the others. Hang in there. And know the new 2011 necks on the 4003 and now 4004 basses are a lot slimmer than the 2006 you had. They also have the walnut wings on the headstock and full width inlays on the fretboard. Plus the switch to put in or leave out the bridge pickup capacitor for current or vintage tone. RickenLife will be good for you when fate smiles. Welcome aboard the RRF. Stick around and learn a LOT here.

It really is hard when you've no other choice but to bow your head and do what you have to do. Yeah, be assured, your day will come. And you'll have the Rick of your dreams. Chin up, stiff upper lip and all that. Glad you're hear among friends.

Your Fortunes will turn and surely you will have your Dream Ric. Keep on, it will happen!
Re: My sad Rickenstory
Things will improve!
Main thing is you can still find those basses when the time comes.
Checkout my story on Wints "it was 30 years ago today" thread and you may find that theres always someone who has done a worse deal to pay the bills!
Surely someone can call round to give you a bass fix?
Best wishes,
Pete.

Hang on Nelson. It's quite obvious you love Rics. You've made the other purchases happen, in their own time, and I've got a good feeling you'll have another one "in it's own time".

It took me 11 years to achive my Rickenbacker bass dream, you'll do it as well.
Re: My sad Rickenstory
Nelson, as Jeff said, there are many out there. When you are ready maybe look at a '74ish 4001 - the neck is a nice thin D as opposed to a thick C profile.

Sorry to hear, Nelson, but as the others have said, keep your spirits up, and hopefully the right bass will find you at the right time.
