first LONG session with new 4003
I've had my new 4003 FG for just shy of 2 weeks now. Due to work scheduling, I have only had one session with it longer than 15-20 minutes. Today I had all the time I needed, and just finished an apprx. 2 hour session with the bass. Oh my goodness! I played along with numerous cds that I run through a studio setup, as well as just doing runs, and scales,ect.. I even used the mutes for a while to check out that sound. I liken this bass to buying, and driving a sports car; it's not just a great sounding instrument, but it's killer fun to play also. It brings a whole bag of tonal tricks to the table; but I'm not telling you guys anything you don't already know. Man I look forward to owning this instrument.

We all like hearing when someone discovers what we've known for years. Congrats on finally getting to spend some quality time with your new 4003, the more you play it the more you'll love it!

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Rics tend to grow on you.

They tend to self replicate too. Every time I look in the closet there's another one!s4001 wrote:Rics tend to grow on you.
Congrats John and enjoy the honeymoon.

If they start eating you out of house & home, let me know. Be more than happy to help you out. For a friend and all, y'know.

Oh-h-h-h-h .... its only a breeding problem ..... not anything to do with RAS, addictive personalities and our need for greater disciplinary control ???

Re: first LONG session with new 4003
My wife of 38 years has long been dealing with the replicating thing. At this time I only own 2 Les Pauls, and 2 strats as far as the 6 string electrics go. I always bought sunburst models, so she thought I was playing the same guitars. I bring them out of the studio room closet only 2 at a time. My new Ric is FG, so I guess I'll probably be owning at least another Ric FG. It's funny how at my age I'm still having to try to explain to my wife why just "one wont do". I know from the short time I've had my Ric, that one "just wont do". All in all; she's been really easy going as far as the money for quality instruments thing goes.

Great pics Rich. It's obvious you guys are having fun. There's nothing like jamming with a group of musicians. I can't wait to eventually getting around to breaking my Ric in at a jam session.
