Hey, yeah its FH. I was absoulutley inundated with offers, All offering around 2 grand. But it made me think, would I be able to get another 60's 365/360 for the same price any time soon. I saw one go on Vintageandrareguitars.com for 4800 (obviously that one was mint). Id really like to get a rickenbacker case for it, but i can't blooming find one.

FH = August 1966
1st number is a 2
2nd number is either 5, 6, 7, or 8
3rd and 4th number - haven't a clue...
The suspense is killing me...

Re: Whats your thoughts on this 365? Owners question
George, my advice would be not to change any parts that would require drilling or routing any part of the wood if you want it to maximize the guitar's value. You can get Gotoh tuners that look vintage, fit existing holes, and work better than the original Klusons. Also, I'd keep all replaced parts if/when the day comes that you decide to sell. Just my two cents. Still curious about those pickups, tho...pesimax wrote:Hey, i was just about to put a message on about renovating my 365 when I find their is already a message about it lol.
Hey, I'm the owner of the Rickenbacker 365, I was thinking about putting a new bridge/vibro on it as the one at the moment looks a little old...well it is a bloody old guitar. Also my luthier tilted the bridge pickup slightly (he says its better that way). So my question is, is it worth renovating it or leaving it as is. I mean it sounds great and has a fantastic action, but i'd like to do it purley for my own self esteem lol. I still play it live every now and then and sounds great. My lead guitarist in the band recons i should put new tuners on it because of its age.
I was only selling to pay off my student debt (first year post graduate journalism) and I happen to have bought a new les paul 50's tribute goldtop, but i've managed to sort out the payments now so i'm thinking about keeping the old girl.

I'd say walk away....
I've played *some* great 70's Gibsons (Danotron's got a great '78 ES-355), but overall....the build quality is pretty low, and certainly lower than your classic 60's Rickenbacker.
Walk away......but then again, what would you expect to hear on a Rickenbacker forum.
Re: Whats your thoughts on this 365?
I agree with Jeff and Collin, keep the Rickenbacker. I remember checking out Gibson Es's back in the 1970s, and as Collin said, the build quality (and tone) were nowhere close to that of my 1967 ES-335TDC.
