I definitely think there is an absent of more green colors in the current line up, but my favorite color is Autumnglo or the walnut burst color. I find it hard to tell the difference between the two, but ever guitar I've seen labeled as those two colors I thought was lovely. Montezuma is 2nd place. DARN GOOD COLOR.

That's nice, Wints...but I'd like to see it in Ruby! 8)

And apparently I'm not the only one that has a thing for Ruby:

That GreenGlo is amazing. For personal choice thought I just love the look of Fireglo.

The original Turquoise Blue from the 50's is by far my favorite. Not to be confused with Cloverfield Green, which is on the left, below:

Maple-Glo for me.... once it ages in a few years, nothing beats it. The grain, the warmth. And as has been pointed out previously, painted guitars are painted for a reason.

That's not always the case, if you're implying that solid finishes have ugly wood under them. John Hall has said they buy maple with the hope that it can all be used on a mapleglo guitar. They use the best looking of that for mapleglo but they won't hold up production stacking wood aside to use for solid finishes. Sometimes a solid finish is hiding something very nice underneath.

I agree that the old Turq is very nice. But your photo of the old Turq doesn't look that different from my photo of the newer Turq as shown here on my 1993 4003S:

I'm not sure how much of a role lighting is playing here. Mine does look this color indoors. Outside or with a flash camera it turns to Crazy Green though!

And Turq looks doubly super-cool IMO on this model:
