Neither had I.

But I set some Top Men to work:

And, thanks to technology, we now know how a BB 5002 would have looked...

They are nifty little things. A bit pricey for me, though.

I got to play one, plugged in. The sound is astonishing. Guaranteed to make everybody smile. :)

No, but with the symmetrical body, a conversion would be fairly straightforward, with no refinishing necessary, unless the output jack was to be moved. You could use a right-angle plug to keep things out of the way.

Only real issue then would be the TRC.

Intriguing idea.

Since they don't have a truss rod wouldn't it just be a logo or name plate?

If you're really picky, it's a "nameplate" in RIC nomenclature!

It looks like one of the pics from NAMM is a mandolin in Midnight Blue. That finish was not available when I got mine a few years ago. It looks nice!

I have a model in MG and AFG. Both look absolutley stunning on the 5002V58.

Although pretty content with my Mapleglo, I must confess that I still have a long-term desire to own a 5002V58 in Amber Fireglo (probably my favourite COY), to match some of my other Rick AFG guitars.

Does anyone know if these are commonplace or where I might source one?
