I still have you listed, Ilan....but there are a bunch that have changed hands, so the overall ownership may not be accurate.

From the RRF Register.

Shadows
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

'86, my favorite year. Ik keep reading about the small necks of these shadows. I wonder if they are the same as my 4003 MID/BT which was also made at the end of '86.

How does one go about updating the register when an instrument changes hands, etc.?

Send a note to Peter (admin) or Gil (gibsonlp). They will take care of it...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

ZI-2485 is a NEW addition to the registry....that makes 27 serial #'s accounted for as of 2/13/2011

*EDIT : make that 28
Chris, if you want, that data can be added to a sheet on the girth spreadsheet. Up to you.

My son's July '86 4003S/BT has a very fat neck. Which, by the way, I prefer over the thinner ones.

I think that Shadows had custom neck specs as one of their special features.

Ok, Peter....I never knew this particular register existed! .... so combined with the serial #'s I have on file, looks like we have a total of 37 Shadows accounted for! (not sure if John Hall's is included) .... still a long way from the 50+ that had been produced.......

Chris, you can add your numbers to the register as collected items, and the merged list will account for 75% of the Shadows. Pretty impressive!

Shadows production was September thru December 1986. If the pics in the register are an indication, during Oct. '86 (ZJ) the treble pickup surround changed from flat to scooped.

ZI-1256 has been accounted for .....

This makes 40 serial #'s I have recorded.....PLUS John Hall's (which I had at one time but for some God-forsaken reason, I wrote it down somewhere and can't find it)

Chris, don't know if you have mine. I bought it from Jason Mendelson (jdog) in September '08. It's ZL 3280.

Yep. The one I just bought is the earliest # .... but there is a rather large gap between mine and the next one....unless the seller has dyslexia
