The truss rod nuts sit so high that that they touch the underside of the plexi TRC, and have scraped off a bit of the back paint. A thicker spacer will move the nuts further back, and even higher up. And, when I had a closer look today, and tested it again, the holes in the spacer weren’t too close together after all.
My problem is that the steel spacer has sunk a little into the wood, more on one side than the other. I could fill up with epoxy to level the spacer, but the nuts will end up further back and higher up. I’m considering carving out the wood on the other side to level it. That way the nuts might end up a tiny bit lower, hopefully not touching the TRC. I have to look at it closer and do some thinking.
