I have an '84 330 that is an exceptional instrument, and unlike any other 330 that I've played. For one thing, it's very heavy (8 lbs.), and it has a darker-than-usual shade of fireglo. Tonally, it has more of a growly tone than Rickenbackers usually have, and it's not just the PUs. It even has a growly tone when played acoustically! The action is incredibly low and it's built like a tank. I've owned it for 20 years and it has the battle scars to prove it!

It's odd that you almost never see '70s or pre-1985 Rick guitars for sale - just basses.

I've have the same problem. I've been looking for an '83 360/12. (I was born in '83, so...)
But I've never seen one for sale.

I have a camera the same age as me, a Rolleiflex 3.5 E with a Zeiss Planar 75mm lens and the meter. I used to have a Linhof Tecknika III that was also my age, a friend has that one now.

A couple of months ago my husband bought me an Electro ES-17 from "Beatcomber" that was made the same year and month as my birthday (Sept. 1969).... A very cool present indeed! Image
