The best part is, I was able to get my son to play the game with me for a little while this afternoon!

Beatles RockBand and kids
Last weekend I got to see something that was pretty cool.... My son and one of his friends were plugged into the X-box 360, and instead of playing their usual shoot-'em-up games, they were playing the Beatles RockBand that I got for Christmas. The friend was playing my plastic Ric guitar, and my son was on vocals and was wailing out Beatles songs, and both were loving it.... I was thrilled to hear the kids getting into music that I could really enjoy, too.... Normally they gravitate toward that rap garbage. And so the Beatles' musical influence lives on for yet another generation....

....And maybe someday I'll be able to get him to sing or play some of those songs with me for real.....

Hey Melibee, i have the same situation here with my boys.
They've had Beatles rockband for ages and a guitar, but we bought them wii microphones for Christmas.
Ebay persuaded me to buy my youngest boy a Logitech wii drumkit AU$45, as well as a Logitech wireless Fender strat, AU$29 for my eldest! (Cheap as!)
A day or so later, i hear 'Revolution' blaring from the playroom, with both boys perfectly in time on both instruments , and word-perfect singing.
I have no doubt these games will contribute to them both having music as an interest later in life.

My kids and I really enjoy it too, and now my son wants to learn the bass parts for real!

Cool!
My son thinks "Come Together" has the coolest bass riff ever. I'm just learning to play bass myself, but am hoping I get to the point where I can teach him how to play it for real. In the meantime, we both have fun with it on Beatles RockBand.
