It's good to know where this bass is ending up, which as Vincent and others have pointed out, is one of the rarest out there from a Rickenbacker perspective.

Congratulations to both him and Mike G, and hopefully looking forward to seeing it in spring time!

Just looked at the hi res pic's and it is just stunning, to have something that rare and original is mind blowing, it wouldn't surprise me if the original bill of sale is tucked under the case lining.

Vincent, so glad you popped in to let us know about this rare beauty. That it is historically significant and now in your collection is great; being your birth year just tops it all off. Kudos on a nice acquisition. Don't be such a stranger around here!
