Ladies and Gentlemen, dig The Who
No Rickenbackers were harmed in the making of this video, but it's nice to see one in the hands of the Ox.

Thanks John.. thats the first video I have ever seen of him using a Ric. Anyone know what kind that was. The video doesnt show it much but there was one point near the end where the lower horn looked more like a 360 than any bass.

Cool video! Looks like a 4005 to me.
If it is to be, it is up to me.
Re: Ladies and Gentlemen, dig The Who
No problem and, yes, that is a 4005. There are a couple of others that I've seen with him and that bass, but they both seemed overdubbed (band-syncing?). From what I've read, he recorded "The Seeker" with the 4005. He owned a 4001 model (Rose Morris 1999), but I've only seen pictures of him playing it. Entwistle owned a LOT of basses.

Cool! My favorite early Who tune.

Nice thin necked 4005
Re: Ladies and Gentlemen, dig The Who
A fellow Ric fan (Simon Mole) owns the same 4005 used in the video.

I had the GREAT experience of meeting John, and seeing/hearing him perform on one of his band's solo tours. This was at the Stone Pony in New Jersey.
To say he was loud......would be laughable.......he was EASILY as loud as a 747 jet with all four engines going full blast.
If any here know what the Stone Pony is like, you know it's NOT an arena, it's a club.
He literally had a WALL of Trace Elliot Amps/cabs behind him. The ONLY thing you could hear was his bass!!!!!
Man, what a show!!!!!!!!

Lefty,
That must have been a PHENOM show. I played the Pony back in the 80s, what a small room with such BIG history!
