"Life On Mars"

Post by octagon »

The USA TV Series,I watched the Pilot and the 1st episode on Netflix last night. I have heard original UK version is better, but I thought the Pilot episode was really good and much better than the trailer makes it seem. They had all the wrong music in the trailer, the music in the show was great! They really did a great job with the cinematography of the pilot too, making it look like a 70s movie like The French Connection. The new york street scenes were great crammed with 60's and 70's cars everybody dressed like 1973. It must have cost a fortune. I guess that is why they movie production to Los Angeles after the pilot.

Favorite scene in the pilot

Funniest moment

2008 cop: "This isn't my car,I was driving a Jeep."

1973 cop: "You were driving a military vehicle ?"

2008 cop: "I need my cell."

1993 cop: "You need to sell what?"

this show was great, although the one season and then finale left me bummed.

Simply put, the show required an IQ to follow. Years of so-called " reality" programming have destroyed too many American brain cells.

Anyway, the UK version put the USA copy to shame.

Yeah, Britons are not impressed when they hear how the U.S. version ended. I really enjoyed the series though. I thought the finale was a bit weak, but a bit of an interesting twist.

Absolutely enjoyed both the UK and US versions of this show. "Ashes to Ashes" is the sequel.

One of our (my wife and I) favorite TV shows!
My favorite part is when Sam tells a guy who is about to identify the criminal that "everything is going to be okay" and that "there is a glass between you and them and they can't see you".
And then they enter a regular room...

The same actor (John Simm) plays "The master" in Dr. Who, another TV show we love.

Did anyone get to see Ashes to Ashes? it's a spinoff of Life on Mars, we didn't get to see it (no time) but it's supposed to be quite good too, Gene Hunt is there too.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

It just finished here down under! To be honest it eclipsed Life on Mars, and had a great ending and all!

Love it when the main character,(UK version), runs into Marc Bolan of T-rex in a nightclub, and warns him not to speed!

I really loved the (2)episodes of the USA version that I have seen so far. I know that UK version is probably better but having spent alot of time in The Big Apple back then, I was really affected by the shows spot on recreation of Manhattan in 1973(at least in that 1st episode).

Cool scene; he wakes up in a muscle car, and looks up and sees the Twin Towers. :)
