Wow, now that's covering a lot of ground there! That would be a nice Ricky museum.

Okay, the bass did not sell, and I have to admit, there is a small part of me that is relieved. Hearing your comments, I was starting to wonder more about what I was letting go. I began to ask myself, at what price point would I actually feel good about selling it and not so sacrificial about selling it in the name of buying other gear? I came to a dollar amount, then backed it off a little (for fear of looking ridiculous and greedy, and maybe I still will), and relisted. I've decided I'll just keep it listed (maybe for a while-it's cheap to do so on eBay until actually it sells), until I get what feels more right. If it's a bad time for selling, so be it.

This may make some of you prog rock lovers laugh. Although I'm a huge Rush fan, I've only been a casual fan of the band Yes. I only have their greatest hits CD and haven't exactly worn it out. About 2 weeks ago, I was surfing the TV listings and noticed that a 1 hour special featuring Yes in concert was going to be on. I had never seen them play before (just heard the recordings on the CD). Therefore, I decided to set the DVR to record the 1 hour live special. Well, ironically, I watched it for the first time this past week. It was killing me when I saw Chris Squire weilding that yellow Rick bass and just sounding incredible. At one point he played a song on a Fender P-Bass, and his sound wasn't even close to as good (for my taste). Then he went back to the Rick, and it was just such a pronounced difference for the better. Needless to say, it was driving me crazy. I resisted every urge in me to get the Rick out and start playing it. I didn't want to make the departure of the bass any more difficult. Anyway, since it didn't sell, I'm thinking of getting it out and trying it out with a pick like Chris Squire was using (if anything, just to hear it). I've always been a finger player since I'm a devoted Geddy Lee fan. I also found it interesting how much he jumped back and forth on both sides of the pickup cover even during the same song. Since Geddy always had his pickup cover off, I wasn't used to seeing this. Anyway, if you're a Yes fan, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Anyone know what he uses for his overdriven sound? I'm assuming he's like Geddy, part clean/part overdriven, blends to taste, etc.

It sounds an awful lot like you are going to regret selling your bass.

you need to take it down before I decide that I need another one. I thought for sure it would have been gone by now. Sweet looking bass.
