10-4 on shaded green "Greenglo"! What else could it be called? "Appleglo", "Limeglo", "Shamrockglo"?

I agree that the old Turq is very nice. But your photo of the old Turq doesn't look that different from my photo of the newer Turq as shown here on my 1993 4003S:

I'm not sure how much of a role lighting is playing here. Mine does look this color indoors. Outside or with a flash camera it turns to Crazy Green though!

And Turq looks doubly super-cool IMO on this model:

I've been told that while the modern Turquoise was inspired by the 50's one, it's not exactly the same shade. Maybe Paul could clarify but I believe that's the case. It wasn't used on Ric's for like 42 years, so I doubt they knew exactly what it was... could have been custom mixed at the time. I have spent a lot of time looking at late 50's car color codes to see if something jumped out at me, in case it was an off the shelf color like fender used for their custom colors. I did find a very close match, but it was from a '62 Ford I believe... so it wasn't the same color. I would love to know exactly what color it was.

Another thing is that some of the few existing vintage Turquoise models have a yellowed clearcoat which makes them look more green.

I love how it looks on all Rics, there was even a Turquoise Capri IIRC. I think it looks the coolest by far on 800's and 850's, though. 8)

I'm sure you're correct. And I'd bet that the shades varied a bit back then as well.

Can't verify; my experience is limited on this. Even the modern TURQs seem to vary a bit. This is probably due to spraying technique and shop conditions. I've seen a couple of '50s Turquoise Rick Combos, and the color was more intense than the modern version. That's all I can remember.

Too many great colours to choose from to pick just one, but just about everything that comes out of PW's spray booth makes me think "I WANT THAT ONE!"

Light shows are BAMF's. I wouldn't mind owning one...maybe I'll get Craig's some day.
