My pal Don played lead guitar in The Backbeat Band! Fun film & soundtrack. And Laura Palmer as Astrid, yum.

She even bears a vague resemblance to Astrid.

Paul McCartney hated it because "they gave 'Long Tall Sally' to the John character, it's always been my song, me and Little Richard."

I've seen bits and pieces of it, though.

That was one of the little inaccuracies I noticed about the film. But at least in this one, the John character was playing a Rick 325. In another one I saw, the John character was playing either a mapleglo 330 or a mapleglo 360/OS, I couldn't tell which.

I hadn't watched this,(Birth of the Beatles), since i first saw it in 1979.
Just downloaded a copy, watched it. The guy doing Lennon was excellent.
And those infuriating bits??? How many Ricks did they need to use, and still not get the right one? A mapleglo 610 or 620, then a mapleglo 330, looks like very dark FG360 at the end.
Still though, better than i recalled it from 32 years ago.

This is my favorite movie about the Beatles and because of this movie I wanted a Rickenbacker.

A beatle movie made in 79, be glad it even had a Ric in it, regardless of the model.
