Aw, man! Only a one off? Oh well, maybe if JH likes the job enough, he'll authorize a few more...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Sounds like it, though I didn't remember the year.

Hey Jeff and John,

Can you guys get different insects for your avatars?

When you both post on the same thread it gets kind of creepy around here . . . :P

If it is that one, I saw it at Paul's former house when Shari & I were visiting in the bay area in May of '07, that is how I remember the date.

I'm changing mine back - it is not creepy but aggravating. I though if everyone saw CJ, me, and a couple others use it, they would change too. THAT would be creepy. Didn't happen.

Paul, so it is another. Keep us "in the loop" of its progress, if you will.

Paul's first one was a round-top, shown here luxuriously relaxing on the sofa in the lobby of the Holiday Inn Santa Ana.

As far as I can tell, checker binding was never used on the doublebound '5s, just on the backs of the round-tops until probably 1973 or so.

Well, it received its first color coats on Tuesday, and its first varnish coats yesterday...I made the truss rods yesterday.

It's progressing.
