And you certainly succeeded! I think I even said as much to Dan.

Welcome, Ron! 8)

I am not so sure yours was the first JG Rick in Cleveland; I am trying to track down the former owner of this, which I bought in 1973 from him, and I am pretty certain it was in Cleveland long before I bought it.

A South African chum of mine was visiting in 2002 and and has just today dug out this shot he grabbed at an outdoor gig - you know, a couple of dodgy flatbeds for a stage, a single 13 amp socket for the backline, rig and light (singular) and you spend quite a lot of the night hoping that the circuit breakers will kick in as advertised if it rains and things get fizzy.

No idea what was going on here. Obviously, I could have done with some time at the gym/tanning suite. But it's a good shot of my then almost new JG, in it's pre-blackness days. Although we were obviously having fun, it wouldn't groove as it was told that night, so I gave it a stern telling off and put it back in its case for a couple of years until it learnt its p's and q's. It's grown up a lot since then and it's much more mature now, bless it. See, spare the truss rod and spoil the child....

Nice shot, Philip, this is one for the JG fans! I love the way the binding highlights the deep-space black.

Hey, no couch jokes, we have a couch in the band, at least on nights when there's not a huge drum kit taking up the space!
