I think I need this calendar.

Yes, you do, Jimmy. Featured this month is the headstock from CJ's reverse-truss mapleglo four stringer. 8)

Thanks for the reminder, Jason!

I just took a look at the viewing page - GREAT shots in there! January is probably my favorite on the artistic tip - great use of the color theme and of shadow. Gotta love O'Keefe's Army Of Turquoise! That looks like something right out of a James Bond movie.

Why thank you kindly, m'am. They are proud to be gracing your quarters!

Credit to Paul for placing those spring-green guitars in April, especially for those of us who have been shoveling snow since November!

Maybe that's why they look so extra good. Spring has sprung around these parts. I'd love to have that little Combo.

I was doing the "Hmmm...which one would I pick?"-thing this morning while looking over this excellent collection...what a hard choice! I finally chose that '50s Combo (800?) on the bottom right. So it's settled, then...thanks Ron! I'll PM you my shipping address.

I'm a simple guy, I'll take the 360v64 -6 :)

Ron, how did you get the colors so even in that picture? Isn't turquoise one of the colors that had some variation in different years; and certainly there would be a bit of fading on the older ones?

Great shot!

Great shot!
Thanks, Dan. The colors on the printed calendar are a bit lighter in shade than the actual guitars.

Surprisingly, the turquoise on these guitars is a consistent shade in the photo, although in person the older TUR is just a bit darker. This is in contrast to Midnight Blue, which runs the gamut from a sparkly light royal blue to indigo, depending on the year. I was surprised that even the 1956 Combo 600 shows up as roughly the same shade of turquoise as the 2003 381V69. That's, umm, 47 years of turquoise!

Is the Combo in "Cloverfield Green," or is it a refin, or did Cloverfield Green end up being just like Turquoise?

Paul, none of the above. The original finish of the Combo is Turquoise. As Thomas pointed out in this thread, Turquoise and Cloverfield Green were both available Rickenbacker colors in the mid-'50s. According to the Rittor color chart, reproduced here, both colors were available from 1954-57.

Here's a photo of one in each color, again, courtesy of Thomas:
