Re: 4000 Burgundyglo
i was thinking of doing exactly that for a long time, but the more i worked with the high-gain,the more i liked it. it probably (?) is not as hot as the RIHS,which can actually be a good thing. i mostly wanted to do it for the look, anyway. what would be really interesting,tone-wise,would be to try an actual magnetized HS in there, just like the 50's model 4000,but again,no complaints with the standard pickup.

I'd be grateful for some more images of it...
Perhaps Outdoors under sunlight to capture the finish

Oh yeah, Burgundy is gorgeous! And yes, some sunlight pics might help show off the grain.
Cool bass ya got there!

Beautiful bass. I'm a big fan of Burgundy, and I'm a big fan of the S. What's not to love?!
Looks like you might have the pre-73 saddles on that one? The rest of the bridge and tail look post 73 though.

Re: 4000 Burgundyglo
Replacing the PU with a RIHS is always a cool option. I will keep the stock PU for now, as it works really well and I am attached to the tone I have had all these years.
Not for sale! Ha ha!
I will get more photos tomorrow, since so many want to see them. I will take them outside, as my photos are really dark. I am not a pro photographer, so be patient with me!

No problem! It is fun to photograph Rickenbacker basses, they are very photogenic!

Looks a lot like my 1977 4000 FL BG!
