New Bass Day

Post by bartyclue »

2050 bought from ebay came today. Fretless... modified... not quite sure what to think yet. I like the sound so far, just finding it hard to adjust.

Congrats - VERY cool bass. New bass days are great, but new Ric days are really something special. Enjoy!

Hard to adjust to fretless or hard to adjust to a 2050 that is fretless?

A little of both but mostly fretless itself. Its a different bass that what I am used thats for sure. I am going to get it set up tomorrow so we'll see after that. I was very hesitant about buying it because I wasnt sure I could make it work (read play) properly.. especially in a gig situation.

Congrats, Brian! The 2050 is my favorite non-400X bass. Good luck on getting her and yourself to "work".

Congrats and enjoy it. Be patient and take your time getting used to playing it. That will come in time. Think of it as sort of like driving a different type of car.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

Don't know that I've seen a fretless 2050 before. Cool! Congrats!

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

It was modified, iirc.

It was modified, iirc.

Right, user mod. Apparently, there were no fretless 2000-series basses made. But there were some fretless 3001s made, so it wouldn't surprise me much to see a factory fretless 2000-series pop up someday.
