Yeah, I know, Scott. I was on my iPhone and wanted to be brief but to hint that I had it covered...

Every single solution you guys have so far proposed, I have purchased and tried, along with a few more.

This guitar needs a fresh design completely in keeping with the "feel" of the guitar itself. I think I've finally got something, so it'll happen as soon as I get some spare time.

This looks very much like a Jazzbo. I stumbled across it on a Gretsch forum.........now.......Gretsch or Rickenbacker.....you decide
The luthiers name is Ed Rees. Anybody know him?

This tailpiece has a RIC-ish vibe to it. Could look good on a Jazzbo.

I've tried that one. I think there's a better one lurking around here...

That's a dead-nutz copy of a Jazz-Bo... though of course the headstock is changed...

Graham, now you can get that 12-string Jazz-Bo you've been hankering after.

I have seen the build thread of the Rees jazzbo on another forum. It has a crazy amount of laminations in the neck... it's got a lot of touches seen on the Roger guitars from Germany.
Great Ramp In My Opinion.

I count 5, but perhaps the adjacent ones are of similar wood?

Mine has 11...

There are 7 layers in the neck, plus 2 more at the headstock I think.

Here's the back laminations:

Hi guys,
I'm the guilty party. Just got this thing wrapped up after nearly 2 years of work. I tried to stray as far from the originals as I could manage...damn hard to improve on such perfection, though. The neck is bubinga, walnut and maple. Top is Alaskan curly spruce, and back is butcherblock curly maple à la the 360F prototype.

Have you considered this Kluson tailpiece Paul? It seems to be the exact style used on one of the original Jazzbos.

That butcher-block back is to die for!

I'm still looking forward to the day when I can order a Jazz-Bo.
