Photographs of the 480 Series
Re: Photographs of the 480 Series
I've been holding off posting any new pictures because i've had something in the works for the past month or so. By chance I ended up scoring an original plexi 480 TRC. I always wanted one with the model number on it so I snagged it immediatly. There's a certain elegance to the plexi TRC's. When I got it, I decided to go full-resto. So, here's a couple sneak peaks at the finished article. TRC was not a perfect fit, but that was expected. New Gotoh oval-head Kluson style tuners are the only non-Rickenbacker part. Everything else I ordered from Pick Of The Ricks and they're genuine Rick parts.
No photoshopping here, either. Natural lighting and nothing more.

Nice job, Erik. That looks perfect. One of these days I'm going to have to have a 480 or 481.
All I wanna do is rock!

I've tried without success to post a pic of my BG 480. Can't get the pic(s) small enough to be accepted. Any ideas or suggestions ? Seems like I SHOULd have a pic or two up since my username is ric480 LOL.

Hey, i've got love enough for two.
If Rickenbacker made a work mat like that i'd be all over it. And thanks for the compliments.

800 x 600 is the maximum size they can be. If you're having trouble PM them to me and i'll resize them for you. Or post them as attatchments.ric480 wrote:I've tried without success to post a pic of my BG 480. Can't get the pic(s) small enough to be accepted. Any ideas or suggestions ? If you have any photo software from your camera or ink jet printer, it probably has a "resize" option in the photo editor. I think sites like Photobucket allow you to resize and edit too.ric480 wrote:I've tried without success to post a pic of my BG 480. Can't get the pic(s) small enough to be accepted. Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed (and I mean that in an optimistic way).

Why yes John, you did. You beat me to the post. Thanks again. And beautiful 480 you have there. One of my, if not the, favorite finishes.ric480 wrote:Finally !!! Kind of small though.

I was just thinking how cool a 480 would look with Full Width Inlays...
Re: Photographs of the 480 Series
Oh yeah! Nice!
...and binding too. Yeah, I like the binding. Especially black. Extra specially black with checkerboard...
But white might go better with that color...

FWI look great on the 480.
Re: Photographs of the 480 Series
Well, you can call it Jetglo binding if you want, but I'm pretty sure RIC called it black...
