How Rush is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is absolutely beyond me.
Re: Woodshed Orchestra's "Geddy Lee"
Thats easy, Its because the RARHOF is rubbish. A bit like Rolling Stone.....Danotron wrote:How Rush is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is absolutely beyond me.

I work 5 minutes from the R&RHOF&M, and as close as I have ever gotten was dropping Aitch off in the drive to it!weemac wrote:Thats easy, Its because the RARHOF is rubbish. A bit like Rolling Stone.....Danotron wrote:How Rush is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is absolutely beyond me.

Then you don't fully understand Rush.Danotron wrote:How Rush is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is absolutely beyond me.

I disagree Scott, I think I understand Rush very well.s4001 wrote:Then you don't fully understand Rush.Danotron wrote:How Rush is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is absolutely beyond me.
<steps on soapbox> My comment has nothing to do with whether the RaRHOF is important to the band or not, it's more along the lines of after 30+ years of the level of success they've achieved (whether you like them or not), how can they be ignored?
If success is not the criteria, and that's OK, then how about the uniqueness of the music or number of bands that cite them as an influence. I recently watched the "Beyond the lighted Stage" documentary and was blown away by the number of different types of bands that were influenced by Rush, from Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails to Primus and Metallica.
I agree with the comments above from Eden and Jeff, to me it just demonstrates how out of touch the RaRHOF is with the people that actually love and support rock and roll. <steps down from soapbox>

Being in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame means nothing, Madonna and John Cougar Mellonhead are in. Give me a break. Madonna is certainly not Rock and Roll.
