Thanks for contributing, Ron. It was a great read, and I think you need to attend some local (to you) Ric confluences so other members can bring buckets at drool at them in person!

And I've said this a bunch of times, but one of Ron's beauties left him in September 2009 and now resides with me, an early -perhaps prototype- model 1997 reissue from 1986. A few of us here believe it was made in the same batch as the one that is owned by Tom Petty.
