Care to let me be the judge of that?cjj wrote:Unfortunately, my beer doesn't come with Grolsch rubber washers. Grolsch is a decent beer, but mine's better...

Re: Anybody else do this?
I went to photo college. Grolsch was the preferred container for storing darkroom chemicals. The secret is that rubber grommet. It was a shame when they changed the porcelain cap to plastic.
Now my wife uses them for her balsamic vinegar/olive oil/garlic dressings. (not the same bottles, that is)

It's a multi-tasker.
Re: Anybody else do this?
I am loving this idea more than any Schaller machines. I rather like, uh, beer.

Beer is good! I've never heard of this but I'm definitely gonna give it a go, 6 basses, 3 guitars and a ukulele, now thats a good evening!

Re: Anybody else do this?
I have two basses(4003 and Jazz) on acoustic 6 string(Martin D-15) and three electric 6 stings(Gibson Lucille, Strat and a Tele) and a uke( Kala). My uke has no strap buttons. I keep grommets in all my cases with picks and clothes. It makes it easy to protect you guitar and who doesn't love beer? Ya never know you may need to borrow a strap and if you do you are set. I keep a set in my pocket and on my amps just in case. I am always leaving them in my pockets and washing them, or giving them to a friend to try. I use to just leave them on all my strap buttons. There is a vodka maker that uses them on there bottles and the grommets are green if you want to change up and go crazy with another color. I have a few of those too. I must drink to much.

Enough said, right there! End of story.Beer is good!
Re: Anybody else do this?
Oh, that's a fine statement alright! But I could go on for days talking about styles, malts, hops, mashing techniques, etc., etc. Heck, that's almost as fun as drinking it!teeder wrote:Enough said, right there! End of story.Beer is good!
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
Re: Anybody else do this?
Bread tabs can also be used as strap locks.

Good idea, but obtaining those isn't nearly as fun as obtaining Grolsch washers by drinking the beer...

Re: Anybody else do this?
I'm sure they work well in a pinch, but my Ricks are too precious to me to trust a flimsy piece of plastic.ilan wrote:Bread tabs can also be used as strap locks.

Re: Anybody else do this?
These Jim Dunlop $3 pieces of plastic secure the strap on my Shadow. The '73 4001 has non-original oversize strap buttons. Never had a problem. The bread tabs go on the Fenders, where dents are considered mojo. Still, they never failed.

The Jim Dunlop ones are great they come in those round ones and triangluar ones too. Cheap and work with any strap.
