Hugh Betcha, Ron...it's on my bench right now, having been stripped, sanded and sealed. Waiting for its turn in the spray booth.

Blackstars are best refretted after color coats but before clear coats, so it'll have a pause in the spraying process for a fret job.

Brian, I get that color by lightly tinting a wash coat and spraying the pure white binding.

The only binding that comes pre-tinted is so-called "Ivoroid", which is used by Gibson primarily, and has streaks in it. It looks nothing like aged Rick binding.

Paul, awesome news. I sent you a PM about fret size since the Blackstar will get new frets. I never liked the large ones it came with since I'm used to the small ones my '76 4001 has.

Am "jones - ing" for an update! Or is that "jonesin'"? Am in the mood for some PW eye candy. On second thought, let me re-phrase that.....am in the mood for some PW's Rickenbacker eye candy. (shudder)

Jwilli, you're living in yer head too much...

I'm getting back into action after a few weeks of taking it easy, working weekends only. There are a half-dozen Rick projects coming to completion in my shop, but no finished work to show for a week or two.

I'll take some semi-finished shots tonight. A number (4 is the number, actually) of acoustics nearly ready for paint, and four mid-'60s 330s and 360s. A Tuxedo and a Blackstar bass, and final assembly of a CS for Mr. Boyer. I'm working on a 1999 resto, a Combo 1000 and a AZ 450S. Two 370/12 RMs and a couple of 320s, too.

Holy Cow! I didn't realize I had so much to do!!!

Yes, Jan. That's up for paint, as well as another 4001 for a very patient young fellow down in Santa Cruz...

Yikes!

I did work last evening, but my camera was at home...pics soon!

Well, forgot to mention Dean's project--it's in the workshop, too.

(It's a wonder that there's room to work in the workshop...)
