Scarce as hell. Ask Ted. A GREAT playing bass. Sounds incredible! This one is coming up in July at the Valley Forge Guitar Show:

Yes, Ilan. That's exactly what Ted Staberow said. Do you think this might have happened in the manufacturing?

My vote is that it could have come from the factory that way. The pick guard would have to be removed for a definitive answer.

No. It is the only other '63 I know of though.

What a beautiful bass, I don't want to hijack this thread but......now that the C series are discontinued, think how easy it'd be for RIC to put out a bass (very much) like that by using the current 4003. It'd have all the coolness of the early basses and would hardly disrupt current production. Maybe if we ask nicely? :)
