Stand up bass
Stand up bass
No, this is not an optical illusion, and there are no wires, no trick photography. My Magnum I stands up on it's own when on flat ground. I have to admit, I was shaking when I took the pics because if it started to fall, chances are there would have been major headstock damage. Fool that I am, I had to get the camera and document this strange feat that most basses are not capable of (mostly due to strap button placement)
Re: Stand up bass
I was disappointed to discover this thread was not about upright or double bass, but you saved it with cool content!
Re: Stand up bass
Neat! Can it tell jokes at the same time?
emac.

Re: Stand up bass
If only I could get the funny papers to stay upright, then my next thread would be "Stand Up Comic"

Re: Stand up bass
The first thing that came to mind when I saw the pics was, it had to be done on one of the equinoxes.

So? That's no big deal. I can stand a nickel coin up and it will balance without falling over on the cylinder head of my 1967 Jaguar E-type convertible with the engine idling, it is so smooth running. That's how I check for it being tuned up properly.
Re: Stand up bass
For someone who doesn't understand English, this thread might look as if it's about a bass that grows out of your floor.

53,000 original miles with triple SU carburetors. The only thing that has ever happened to the motor is that I got sugared once when I was in grad school, and all it did was carbon up the valves. Flushed the fuel system, cleaned the head, put on a new cylinder head gasket myself, and went on down the road.jps wrote:Probably a Chevy V8............antipodean wrote:I'm just surprised that there's a '67 Jag with a working motor...iiipopes wrote:So?
