Mitch: Gil has it right. It will be registered to the new owner with the same celebrity status noted along with any additional comments the owner wishes to make.

The only serial number of any of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Rics is Mike Campbell's '63 625/12, which is CM108 (already registered ages ago with several pictures of Mike and Tom posing with/playing it)
