'73 AZUREGLO IN "ROLLERCOASTER" !

Post by BAD RONBO, KiLLeR DWaRfS »

this morning i clicked on the tv to a movie channel and it was the movie "rollercoaster" from '77. it was at the area when the crew was looking for the explosive on the tracks. there was a song called "big boys" playing in the background, then it cut away to the band playing it. it was the "sparks" band onstage and the bassist was using a '73 azureglo deluxe ! very cool ! always thought the sparks reminded me of cheap trick where you had the rock looking guy and the geek guy .

I was going to post about this a month or so ago - caught the same awful movie and snapped a pic of the bass (which of course I don't have with me). I thought it was a 72 or earlier (there's a tugbar on it)...

The AZ Blue 4001 is cool, But what I really need is one of those powder blue dress suits like the guy in the control room's weasring. Why aren't those available anymore? It would be a great matching stage outfit for anyone who plays a Blueboy. . . .

I'd tend to agree. But you know what's best? I've got one! :D

Me too! (if you subtract a year and make it Burgundy...)

You ever get that missing chunk of binding for your AZ?

Hopefully getting that sorted next month Jeff. My tech is in London and I'm way Oop North, and between looking after my cat prior to losing her to cancer and preparing for a house move I haven't been able to do much else. Not that it currently matters because my band is currently unable to get a new drummer for love nor money, so there are no gigs on the horizon.

That movie was shot at Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita, Ca., just north of L.A.. It was also the location used in Family Vacation with Chavy Chase where it was known as Wally World. It's prmarily a roller coaster park. The pizza in the Gotham City section is pretty good for what it is.
