Left handed Rick 360 in near mint condition. Late 1980's guitar. Rickenbacker does not make leftys any longer.

Will consider trade for a PRS Lefty

Yep, you never know ... like maybe a right-handed Forum member has a left-handed guitar that he can't play ...

as a fellow resident of hell (i.e., a left-handed rickenbacker fan), i especially feel your pain. welcome to the forum!! i can attest that you are in for a bit of a wait....but keep scouring the forums, ebay and especially craigslist, since you're more likely to find a lower priced lefty rick there. unfortunately, you have to weed through the odd scam, but for the most part, they are a pretty good resource. if you Do find a lefty Rick in a major city--chances are there's a forumite who might be able to check the guitar out for you so's you know it's a legit offer. if i see anything down my way i'll let you know. i waitied about 11 months--searching craigslist, ebay, the forum, etc...FINALLY scored my second lefty--a simple 330 with toaster pickups. still cost an arm and a leg...but my wait is over at last!
i will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, de-briefed, or numbered.

Paul,

Hello and Welcome from another Lefty player. I would agree with the others when they say that lefty Rickenbackers ARE out there.....but you must continually search.
I often run a search on Ebay for lefty basses----especially Ricks.
I am lucky enough to own FOUR factory lefty 4000 series basses----Sold my fifth one earlier this year.

Currently, there is a lefty 620/12 on Ebay. Saw it there a day or two ago. NOTE: it is strung backwards to facilitate playing Right-handed      I HATE when people do that!!!!!

Best of luck in your search. Let us know how you make out.

I thought that, too, when I first saw the ad, but then I realized that the left-handed owner was playing it "upside sown and backwards" (for lack of better description. That is, he was accustomed to playing a right-handed instrument (strung right-handed) as a left-handed player (headstock pointed to the right), which puts the higher strings at the top and the lower strings on the bottom. Being that the 620/12 LH was originally strung for a left-handed player (headstock to the right, higher strings on the bottom and lower strings on the top), the eBayer changed the strings to higher strings on the top and lower strings on the bottom, to match what he was accustomed to on the right-hand guitat. So it really wasn't strung for a right handed player, it just seems that way.

I hope that thoroughly confuses everyone now ...  8) :D

Who knows, the 620/12 LH may have been strung that way at the factory. In the past, Rickenbacker offered the option of the right-handed stringing of a left-handed guitar.

from Rickenbacker.com
Options
LH - Lefthand, available all models
RH - Right-hand stringing of left hand instrument
VB - Vintage Reissue vibrato
VH - High performance vibrato system on 650 series guitar
UP - Upgrade from Standard to Vintage case (Left Hand Models Only)
'96 1997 LH MG
'98 360 LH MG
'00 360/12 Carl Wilson LH FG
'07 730S Shiloh LH

I'm a lefty with a 360MG purchased from another forum member. You'll never know when you'll find one but it's worth the wait.

Yeah, I have to agree. Bide your time and eventually you'll see one you MUST have. It happened to me with my two lefty Rics, after a few years of searching eBay every day one popped up that just 'spoke' to me. I almost lost out as I left it a little too late and it sold but the buyer pulled out and it reappeared so I snapped it up ASAP. I didn't plan to buy another but I saw a 370/12 for sale and the seller only lived a few miles from me, I knew I'd regret it if I passed it up, so a quick email and a visit later it was mine. I really hope you see one that you really want.

Hi Folks

I have several lefties and a couple of righties that I'd like to sell. I have too many guitars and I'm in the process of moving and I'm running out of room. Please email if interested.

370/6 FG LH mid 90's virtually unplayed. Vintage Silver case.
620/6 FG LH Black trim. late 90's I didn't like the powder coat finish on the black metal parts so I changed the pickup covers and bridge cover to chrome and replaced the tailpiece with a trapeze by Winfield Vintage which was a bit disappointing ( ask away). Black 'R' tailpiece included. Silver case. Guitar doesn't look as dull to me with a few added chrome parts. I still like the black pickguard, binding and TRC.
4004L Montezuma Brown LH - good luck ever finding another. Unplayed. Vintage Silver case

330/6 Midnight Blue RH - 2009 New in carton from factory. Opened carton to verify condition only.
360/6 FG RH - 2009 New in carton from factory. Opened carton to verify condition only.

Bruce, put this info in the For Sale forum for max exposure. Also check the Wanted section as there have been posts recently looking for lefties.

+1

Also, please read the posting rules in that section ... IIRC you'll need to include a price for each (which may prove difficult).

Thanks for the replies. I know I should post in the marketplace if I want maximum exposure but I am looking to place a few of my instruments in good hands quietly. Nothing sinister going on it's just over the years when I've posted on line in various forums generally it turns into a long discussion about the prices being too high or too low. Or asking for photos to be posted and then there are 50 new posts with members photos of their guitars pointing out that their finish is better or the wood has better grain on their guitar. In the end, I've sold everything I ever wanted online or in person on a one to one basis. I've driven several hours to deliver a guitar to someone.

That said, anyone looking for a lefty could still email me for info, photos and negotiations on price. If that's against the rules, please let me know. I've read and enjoyed this website for many years and I'll continue to in the future.

Thanks again.
