I need a little help

Post by jaymi »

I am working on this blackstar that I just acquired and need a little love....does anyone know of (or have) a neck pickup for a late 80's early 90's 4003? I have something in the wanted thread but wanted to ask in general because I don't want to change the vibe of the bass by putting in a new one since the impedance is so different.

Some thoughts here...

Since I have the OG bridge pup what would you all do when it comes to the front pup? There were changes in the output of the pickup between 87/88 and they have a specific tone that I don't think I can get with a 12.25k pup.

What would you all do??

LOL...no, actually I am going to keep this one...it is not the OG one that I had in 89(that I bought new) but it works and is killer with a nice neck so now I want to record with it...

I know the feeling. In the 40+ years of have played they were all keepers. Hmmm I wonder what happened to my original EKO Violin bass? Good luck to you.

oddly enough, I have seen 2 of my old basses show up in the last 2 wks. One is a Rick and the other is a F___der...one online and one in person....I have no doubt that the old blackstar will turn up at some point...

Jaymi, what is the ohm reading of the neck pickup supposed to be? What does the bridge pup measure?
