A 4003 Downunder

Post by RicOshea »

Hi there,
here is my 2009 4003, I have made a few small mod's to it, but I think it it now finished (bar a new set of strings).
The guard is by Tony @ Pickguardian, the neck HB1 is coiltapped via the tone knob. Roll on next band rehersal ! :D

I've never liked tortoise much, but that looks really good. I like that.

Looks good!

Those plastic things around the bridge pickup must be pretty good right?

Nice figuring and grain in that maple. And the tort pickguard looks pretty good on it. Realize I don't really like tort guards, but with the maple and look of the bubinga fretboard it works. Kudos.

Yes, I was going to say it made a good match for the fretboard as well. Very nice!

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I used to have the original treble bezel, but I prefer the new cove model. I went with the tortoise pg as I think it has a sort of classic/vintage look on an already classic bass. It is hard to get good photos of the tortoise, too muck flash & it just reflects back, or if there is not enough light the pg just looks black.

Looks the duck nuts cobber!

I love the brown tortoiseshell guards - but never tried one on a natural finish before. Surprised how good it looks.
Where did you get the pickguard?

Pickguard is from Pickguardian. He has a template for this guard so you can just choose the finish you like that he has available & order online.

Try to paint your TRC tortoise, that would look cool.
