Re: Help with Authentication
I passed on the Blue 360. I have been talking to Dave's Guitar Shop and I think I am going to get the 330 Jetglo they have.
Am I correct, that besides the slight difference in style, the 330 is basically the same as the 360 without the extra stereo jack?
I am heading to Tulsa in a week so I can have it shipped to me there. We have a residence in the States as well, so it should work out.
Bartyclue, which model do you have?

Re: Help with Authentication
Colin, first welcome to the RRF. Second, Dave's is a great place. Over the past five years, I've made three purchase from them and they've always treated me right. Third, besides the output jacks, there are a few other differences between the 330 and a 360. However, you can't go wrong with a 330.

Re: Help with Authentication
The 330 is a lot heavier, has a sharp cutaway rather than a rounded one, and (on the 12-string model) has wider octave pairs than the 360. Others who know more can tell you the exact difference in specs, or you can look at them on Rickenbacker's website. I have one of each (both of them 12-strings) and they play and sound totally different.
Re: Help with Authentication
Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they changed the 330 and 360 to having the same spacing recently, like in the last year or two or three.
Re: Help with Authentication
Yes, I checked their website and the specs seem identical except for the stereo jack.
I kinda like the shape of the 330 better so that's the one I ended up going with.
I sent the payment to Dave's yesterday for the 330 in Jetglo.
Can't wait to get it!!!!
Thanks everyone!

Re: Help with Authentication
Jason,
The new Jetglo 330/12 that's on the wall at our local Sam Ash has the same width octave pairs as my 1991 330/12, which are substantially wider than the pairs on my 2010 360/12, so much so that it took me a while to adjust to the 360. Yes, in 2005 Rickenbacker began to tighten up the octave pairs on some models. I'm not sure what would account for the difference I described between the 330 and 360, though. Any insights?

Re: Help with Authentication
neck binding
Re: Help with Authentication
Jason,
I believe this was discussed on a prior thread, but could you please elaborate?

Re: Help with Authentication
Since the neck binding cuts into the width of the fretboard, they used to have a smaller string spacing on 360's. Now I guess they use the 330 spacing on both.
