I understand he had difficulty with his health in later years. Hope he's in a better place now. So sad - one of the great TV actors. :(

Just don't be surprised if, in 6 months or so, you hear a gritty voice saying, "You know those peanut butter cookies with the little fork marks on them? I love those peanut butter cookies. My wife makes cookies like that once in a while. I never understood why there needed to be those little fork marks on them, because the marks don't affect the flavor of the cookies, but nevertheless, my wife makes sure that there are those little fork marks on every cookie. Can you tell me why the lab found traces of peanut butter cookie batter under your fingernails, if you were never at the murder scene? And why are you shown holding a fork in this picture taken shortly after the crime was committed? Can you please tell me that, Sir?"

What a great, iconic character. RIP, Peter.

According to the obituary, he was suffering from altzhiemers desease, I think everybody at one time or another watched Colombo, also loved in in movies such as, The Great Race as Jack Lemmon's sidekick Max (CLASSIC) and as the cab driver in Its A Mad Mad Mad Mad World one of my all time favorite comidies, and in the original The In Laws movie with Alan Arkin, and as the manager in All The Marbles, great loss

Aw man! Those great TV stars of the '70s are fading away. Peter was an absolute ace. I'm off to watch reruns of Colombo....

Don't forget Lou Peckingpaugh and Jeff Griffin. And Sam Diamond. And Rocky Holczek. And, of course, the greatest Guy Gisborne ever. (At the very least, the funniest.)
But i just want to believe you'll be back, Peter. Right? Okay? The spirit like yours cannot just go away.
Miss you. You'll always be the greatest in my books.
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
