I was just banned for life from TDPRI.com for posting the link in the previous post,....with no opinion about it whatsoever.

Is that reasonable?

I'm grateful that this site isn't as radically 'anal' as that site.

reasonable? no.

am I surprised? also no.

just another example of intolerance of opinion.... and neither you nor I even expressed our opinion in the posting!

"diversity" is a one way street.

The message I received initially was that I was banned for life..........I visited the site again a few days later and it was changed to a 1 month ban.

I guess one moderator overreacted,...later changed his/her mind?...or another moderator noticed and disagreed?....I was 'banned for life' just seconds after posting the link.

Funny that the article was about Lennon......whom,...of course, I can't be sure,....but I think would've challenged the person who jumped at the chance to ban me over that.

I do wonder how Lennon would've viewed/used the internet. I can't imagine him in favor of extreme censorship. But I guess someone owns that site and it's their right to police it the way they see fit.

I understood that they have a strict 'no politics' rule but the post in no way mentioned my political views,...nor do I believe that the article was meant to sway someone elses.

I mean, where do they draw the line?

Can I point to a post of someone lauding Bono's latest fund raising appearance and claim that it's a political post?

Exactly. For us Beatle fans, it was an interesting statement by Fred Seaman and should be taken as such no matter what one's personal political persuasion.

On the other hand, I read Seaman's book and I dont remember any mention of John becoming more politically conservative in his last years. You would have
thought Fred would have included that.
