New Byrds' JangleBox
Steve: I see that there may be a new janglebox "kid on the block" from your comments made in another thread. Can you comment on the New Byrds' JangleBox, how it may differ from previous generations and give RRF members and idea when it may be available?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
Thanks Peter, and everyone on the RRF who has expressed interest in our newest compressor, the JB2 Byrds Limited Edition Tribute. We appreciate your enthusiasm.admin wrote:Steve: I see that there may be a new janglebox "kid on the block" from your comments made in another thread. We're now accepting pre-release phone orders for the pedal at an introductory price of $300. The JB2 Byrds will not be on our website or available to the general public for the next two weeks. All units produced in the next two weeks will be set aside for pre-release phone order customers only. While those of you who pre-order may not receive the JB2 Byrds immediately, you will receive one before the general public does.
This notice will also go out on the JangleBox Facebook page and as an email to those who've inquired about the pedal's availability to me directly.
The advance pre-order is offered as appreciation to our many loyal customers on the RRF and as a thank-you for your patience!
Call or contact me directly: 1.866.352.6453 or [email protected].
Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
I'm happy to report that since last Friday we have sold out the initial production run of JB2 Byrds LE's. But we will continue to take orders from RRF members and honor the pre-release price of $300 through July 8. Price then goes to $325. This JB2 is the only separate boost-and-tone, 2-stage stompbox compressor on the market that I'm aware of.
There will be no mention of this offer on our website. In fact, we're not even launching the new pedal publicly for the next two weeks. Contact me directly [email protected], or call 1.866.352.6453. Thanks.

Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
I just placed my order. I've been meaning to try one of these over the past few years and finally pulled the trigger.

Steve...Look great. Can you fill us in on the nuts and bolts of this new pedal and what it can do?
Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
Bob, at first blush it doesn't seem like a big departure from the JB2 — we basically added a tone control to the "JangleBoost" side of the compressor. But operationally, it makes quite a bit of difference, imo. It's now a complete tone-and-gain, 2-stage compressor. You can use it as a straight comp, a bass or treble booster, a second gain-stage, or as an additional tone/boost feature for soloing. The idea was to create a really versatile performance pedal, and I believe we succeeded.drumbob wrote:Steve...Look great. We considered calling it a JB3, but I actually have another idea I may pursue down the road for that. So instead, I decided to pay homage to my favorite band and spiff up the graphics. Our pre-release roll-out has been terrific, so something seems to have clicked with our customers.
Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
Has anyone received their new Byrd's Edition JB2's yet? When I ordered recently, it was after the initial run but I got an email on Monday saying it had shipped and the tracking indicates it is now in town. I may even receive it today!

Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
Yep, JB2 Byrds edition was just delivered early this afternoon. It's actually bigger in person than it looked in the online photos. So far, I like what I hear with the 360/12c63 and Vox AC15-TBX.

Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
What about with the 325/12? I wouldn't be surprised if it nailed the "Every Little Thing" sound...
Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
I haven't had time to pull the 325/12 yet, but so far I'm liking what I hear with the full size 12 string. I have a 1964 Gretsch 6120 next in the queue.JakeK wrote:What about with the 325/12? I wouldn't be surprised if it nailed the "Every Little Thing" sound...

Re: New Byrds' JangleBox
Let me know how it works with the 325/12, as no one has commented on a Janglebox with one of those.

Unfortunately, it's at the far end of the storage closet with three other ricks in the way!JakeK wrote:Let me know how it works with the 325/12, as no one has commented on a Janglebox with one of those.
