But I missed this story altogether.

On June 20, 2011 Leslie West had his lower right leg amputated as a result of complications from diabetes.

He says he cried a lot but he's glad he did not lose an arm. No kidding! If he had not let the surgeon amputate his lower leg, he would have died.

I just heard about this a few days ago. Really sad, but at least he still has his life. Mountain was the first real rock show I was allowed to see, at fifteen years old. Leslie was and still is a great talent. I wish him speedy recovery and many more years to rock.
