Cases?
Anyone know of a cheaper case that'll fit a 330?
Re: Cases?
No..........and why would you want an ill fitting aftermarket case anyway? You get quite often get a Rickenbacker case on ebay second hand and at a reasonable price considering that you are protecting a high quality instrument.

The Ric case is good enough, IMO. However, I did have one problem with my old 360 one: It let the strings keep ringing when I shut it. All of my other cases, even gigbags, immediately silence strings when shut.winston wrote:No..........and why would you want an ill fitting aftermarket case anyway? Does Rickenbacker have a reason for that? I imagine so... Anyone know why?

Re: Cases?
I purchased my Rick 360/12 from a pawn shop, and it came w/ a Fender gig bag. Obviously this is not only blasphemous, but also completely unacceptable. I acquired a Rick new case for approximately $190 from Musicians Friend. I'm almost positive that it did not come up when I searched online, but I called them and they were able to find them. Then, with the product number, I was able to find it online. Its a really nice case.
I'm pretty sure that they advertise this case as fitting a 330.
Hope this helps.

For what it's worth, I got my 620/12 today, and the case is phenomenal, and the strings don't ring.Ain'tGotNoPokemon wrote:The Ric case is good enough, IMO. Re: Cases?
Thanks guys. I was able to buy a Ric case on here and it is worth every penny. Thanks, Kevin.
Re: Cases?
I think the provided RIC cases aren't that good, but that's just an opinion. Both 650s I've had have moved an incredible amount in the cases and I was transporting my 4004 today and it was producing a squeaking sound as it was moving inside the case. I don't think that will damage the finish since it is a plush interior, but it still is weird hearing it move. I've been too lazy to check into other options or see if SKB sells additional padding to try and fit the gaps a little bit better.

I don't think you'll have much luck with SKB. At the last NAMM show, I asked one of the SKB reps why they don't have a universal fitting bass guitar case. He couldn't answer me. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Good question, I don't know why!" Then I reminded him that Gator makes universal fit guitar and bass guitar cases at several different budget levels.nukebass wrote:I was transporting my 4004 today and it was producing a squeaking sound as it was moving inside the case. Anyway, back to the 4004 moving inside the case... Being they have the rounded off corners, they don't quite fill up the form fit as much as the 4003 does. So this is what I do:
I place 2 100% cotton diaper cloths in the case as so:

Then I place in my 4004Cii inside the case. The diaper cloth also helps protect the back of the body in case I accidentally hit the last clasp that sticks up, since it's covering it.

Then I fold the diaper cloths over the body.

The case closes without a problem. The 4004 gets a more snug fit and I have diaper cloths handy to wipe her down.
This worked out so well for me, also I do this with my 4003 that's inside an SKB made RIC case
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: Cases?
I've started covering the stock and bridge area with a cloth to protect it from the case straps. The BBR 650 I had got a clear coat scuff from moving around against the black case strap. I'll have to try the full coverage method and see if that helps. It might work on my 650, too. Diapers always help
Re: Cases?
Another thing about the SKB cases it that sometimes they have something protruding into the lower body area (perhaps the attachment for one of the feet?) that can cause damage to the edge of the body. I've heard of several people having this sort of damage.
Here's what happened to the edge of mt brand new 4003FL AFG on it's way to me. Looked like this right out of he case when I first opened it:

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
