Joey - lookin & soundin GOOD!

Thanks all. The shot of the 8 was late in the show - I don't grab it by the horns so the prints are usually around the strings. The folks in the pictures on my amp are my wife and kids... I take 'em to my gigs with me. The headstock on the 4001 is glossy black Testors model paint done when the bass was about a year old (I was like 17 or 18 years old - my first mod) - I still like it!

Here's my old one getting an airing.

No piccies of the new one yet as ive only gigged it once, damn economy / venues shutting down / bands splitting up / my own laziness 8)

John, I saw a black and white picture of a 4001 with the headstock wings dark - I think it was Mr McCartney but not totally sure - anyhow I thought it looked really cool! So I just masked it off very carefully and painted it with glossy black Testors model paint. That was like in 1975... I still like it and would never go back!

I've actually had fried alligator, not bad! That was in Texas though, might be different in Florida...
