leftybass: I don't know it looks like we are setting a new Standard with this thread. The control knob has been exposed to sunlight and 10W30 for a day now and it is still pearly white. Should I put it under the hood?

Peter, I think you're on the right track..I not sure but you may want to try gasoline..I dont know if this will degrade the plastic or not, but it may be worth a try.

Either way it TEXACOuple of days(or longer)for it to do the trick. we can only see what will happen as time progresses.

This Husky little switch bat is still pearly white after nearly two weeks in oil. I am going to seek out a chemist unless John Hall has any secrets.

Well, Peter, we gave it the college try..SUNOCOrollation between motor oil and the 'yellowing process'.... Maybe it is gasoline after all. Maybe the newer polymers hold their color much better. How 'bout just an older switch bat from someone's parts bin???

OK Lefty. We can't seem to WYNN in spite of our best efforts. I am off to the Chemistry Department and the world of Polymer Chemistry.

Well Lefty I would have to argue that my attempts thus far have been crude and I confess to being on the slippery slope of failure. If I am able to rig it right, I expect some slick new ideas to surface later today. Then again I may be in Royal Dutch on this one.
