Volume 1: Mostly Blue is officially closed. Volume 2: Party Train is underway and I've kicked it off with two new songs. Old Town via King Street features mostly keyboard instruments and a Fender XII. Electric Takoma, you will hear a 4002 and my new old '79 360/12.

More songs up! Volume 2: Party Train just keeps on rollin'...

"Pizza Party at Virginia Square" features the 4002 and a neat cheesy organ sound I found in my Roland SD-50. I tried my best Elvis Costello impression on the vocals.

"Ice Skating at the Archives" has no Ricks, just a real piano (played by Oren Levine), my 1940 Kay M-1 upright bass, my Epiphone Casino, and a flute lead by Seth Kibel of the Alexandria Kleztet (http://www.sethkibel.com). If you like Peanuts cartoon music (Vince Guaraldi) you'll love this one.

"Crawling Out of Crystal City" is now up! Loads of 4002, Fender Rhodes, and four tracks with an Epiphone Riviera. Enjoy!

Three new songs up!

"Clarendon" focuses on Clarendon Grill, a great place to sweat, dance, drink, and meet someone you'll regret waking up next to in the morning.

"Dupont Circle" is... about... Dupont Circle. This is where people hang out. There is usually someone playing a guitar or writing poetry or some other fruity endeavor. Features the 79 360/12 JG and 83 4002.

"New York Avenue Invasion" is a little history lesson, the story of the Beatles' first US concert, right after the Sullivan show appearance. Includes the 79 360/12 JG, the 67 366/12 FG (set to 6 string), and the circa 1960 National bass. Enjoy!

Friendly reminder:

Volume One: Mostly Blue is available on CD ($5.00) or mp3 ($2.50).

The album features an '83 4002, '67 366/12, '48 SP, '38 Model 59, plus some tasty non-Rick instruments, like a Casino, Strat, Riviera, Guild D212M, '40 Kay M-1 upright bass, Fender Rhodes, Yamaha DX7, Alesis Micron, Ekosynth P15, and the infamous J Dog guitar, an Epiphone LP Special II with Gibson P94 pickups and a Bigsby B5. Vocals are mostly recorded with a Neumann TLM103.

Need more arm twisting?

This is a full 12-song album. None of that small-time "EP" baloney!

I cover shipping up to $2 US.

I take paypal. I don't mind eating the fees if you need to do it that way.

The CD comes in a nice full color jacket, sealed with a custom MetroSongs sticker. I personally listen to about 10% of each disc to ensure quality, and offer a full refund or replacement if you're not satisfied with your purchase.

"Van Dorn Street" features DC blues guitarist Chris Polk on lead.

"East Falls Church" features Robinson Lee Earle on voice and guitar, and Sara Mosher singing backup.

Email [email protected] to order one. Thanks!

New song up - Metro Center. This is my first instrumental for this project. It features only a 360/12v64 and the 4002, and drum machine. Hopefully this will eliminate any complaints that I don't rock hard enough!

As I stated in the bass forum, "Metro Center" is great. What kind of distortion were you using on the 12-string?

That is a stock sound in the Fender Cyber Twin. I think it may be "Trowerful," but I can't remember. I just turned the knob until I found one I liked. I didn't change any settings before turning the amp off, so I'll see if it pulls up that setting when I turn it back on and let you know.

Oh and thanks!

Loads of new songs up... enjoy! I'm particularly proud of Adams Morgan and Rockville. But that's just me.
