You might need some more knobs to keep up with the pickups, eh?

That's a Photoshop image. No Rics were harmed in the process.

That's why it'd be easy for CJ to add more knobs.

The three knobs could be vol, tone, and a rotary pickup selector.

I have been a huge fan of Dave Meros with Spock's Beard over the years !! I have always found that the best Tone he got was from his 1980 white 4001 he had up until the album 'V'. I had the opportunity to buy that exact bass a few years ago and kick myself every day for not having done so !!!! Dave and I have exchanged emails over the years about that bass and he provided me with how he get that 'tone' and even bought one of his Digitech rackmount effect !!! Without his hands, there is no way I could achieve his Tone still !!!!

I am not a big fan of that Ed Roman Bass and his highly modified Jetglo Bass with 4 jazz pickups in it.

I still dig his playing really much !!!

Stephane, this is Meros' White 1980 4001 as it appeared five years ago. Forumite Lindsay Hahn owned it then (possibly still) and it had been refinished. It is featured in the book.

I feel the same way about not buying the Jon Camp bass when it was first listed in the UK for sale. :(

Dang, I guess I'd better get going on trademarking the pickup arrangement, etc. for the 4004Cjj...

This bass is actually in the process of "growing" a 3rd pickup. It'll have 3 double stacked knobs - vol/tone for each. Then there will be switches to select single coil for each pickup, mono/stereo output and with which pickup the center one is paired when in stereo. 5 switches total...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...
