Serial # ???

Post by larsongs »

Went to Rickenbacker Decoder on their Site & got Production date info. Do any of the numbers in S/N decode anything else?

Thanks,

Glenn

Not on modern instruments. Some of the serial numbers back in the 1950s and before had info on model and perhaps even color, but nobody really knows for sure what the secret decoding of those was...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Actually, on the more recent instruments, the first two digits give the week of production, e.g., 05 02xxx would be the second week in 2005. :)

Some of my Ricks speak to me in code.

That's when I turn out the light and head upstairs to bed.
