I suppose that's putting it a bit more realistically. The $4400 number I came up with for a 4002 was just taking the 1978 list price of $1275 and adjusting it for inflation. Of course, if RIC started offering the 4002 again, I'd pay whatever it it took to buy them...paologregorio wrote:You guys need to think strategically and competitively. How much would you be willing to pay for a limited run of say for example:
- a 4002?
- a 4005?
- a 3001?
I'd pass on everything but the 4002, and be willing to pay whatever price retailers Shinsedo distributes to would sell a RI 4002 for.

Good to hear because they will only be available in Jetglo.cjj wrote:...if RIC started offering the 4002 again, I'd pay whatever it it took to buy them...
Re: How much would you pay for a reissue?
Hey, if RIC made me a 4002, with the black and checker binding, bound headstock, and ebony fretboard, I'd but it even if it was Jetglo...jps wrote:Good to hear because they will only be available in Jetglo.cjj wrote:...if RIC started offering the 4002 again, I'd pay whatever it it took to buy them...

You can get a 4002 RI now with a 4003 and some - erm - professional modifications.
Re: How much would you pay for a reissue?
Exactly, and with bonuses - stronger neck and compression truss rods.s4001 wrote:You can get a 4002 RI now with a 4003 and some - erm - professional modifications.

Re: How much would you pay for a reissue?
Well, you can get a 4003 modified to have the pickups in the same position, sure. It's a bit tougher to pull off if you want a nice Mapleglo or some other non-opaque finish. But I'm thinking the 4002 pickups might be a tad difficult to source. How much different they are from an HB-1 I can't say, but they are different, or so I've been told...s4001 wrote:You can get a 4002 RI now with a 4003 and some - erm - professional modifications.

And...it's not going to happen either!
Just being practical...
Re: How much would you pay for a reissue?
A 4002 would be great, but for me a 4005 would be incredible. That would be worth getting in debt for, I couldn't resist it.

Didn't you guys in the USA just raise the debt ceiling just recently ???????T.A.R. wrote:A 4002 would be great, but for me a 4005 would be incredible. That would be worth getting in debt for, I couldn't resist it.
