Can anyone advise how long you can keep a set of guitar strings for without them deteriorating?
Obviously then place you store them needs to be dry to prevent corrosion, but I often wonder if it's a good thing to buy several sets of strings when you only change them every six months or so?
Thought?

Life wasn't meant to be easy
I don't like them to set around too long. I have had problems with corrosion. One exception, D'Addario strings come in "Corrosion Intercept Technology" bags. I still wouldn't keep those for years. Maybe up to a year. You never know how long they sit at the store before you buy them.

It's a good question. I use Fender bullets (vintage) on my 360's. As a pro musician I change them every 5-10 days (except my 12 string, which I don't play quite so much..I try to get a month out of them), but I never keep more than 4 sets. I have even had corrosion on new sets, straight from the shop!
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.
