Yep Bruce!!! a wonderful luthier!!! I just paid for it to be done. He and you (Dane) for that matter, are the men behind the curtain!! It never would have been so nice of a finished product had it not been for your eye, design and support and his great ability. Probably should said 'had it made into an 8 string!'

It has to be said, I have a 4003, i'm about to buy a 4004 and when I get gas again I think i'll probably buy another.

But this isn't the 'oh...how very wonderful your Rickenbacker bass guitars are' thread, (that's all the other threads).

This is the 'let your imagination fly' thread... Your imagination doesn't have to be cost effective. Mine isn't, I'm wasting money right now.

What if a new design of Ric pickup was produced? - Wow what would that sound like!

What if a new design of hollow body bass was produced? - echo echo echo!

What if the ******* at Ric found a way of grafting a 4003 neck on to a 480 body? - holy moly!

Probably.... you wouldn't say 'No i'd rather have a 4003 in a new and previously un-played colour'

I didn't realize until the last MARF that a 480 body was the same size as a 4001 body. It blew my freakin' mind.
